Lately it seems like the blogging world is one big competition. Look how perfect my life is! It's so perfect I'm going to take all these pictures of the sun shining down on my perfect hair with my perfect smile with my perfect husband and my perfect child. My outfit was purchased at a thrift store and is made out of old banana fibers. My husband hand carved this toy horse from the tree that we got engaged under while I hand made the paint in my art studio that's located in our renovated barn.
I can't handle these types of blogs. I'm sure a lot of people love them. They must because they have a ton of sponsors. I prefer non perfect blogs. Normal bloggers. I like reading about the ups and downs. I like pictures that aren't photoshopped to death. One of my main criteria for blogs that I read regularly is that the blogger seems real. I like to picture them talking directly to me through the screen. I don't want to read a blog that looks like a magazine.
+ My blog is not perfect.
+ My photos are rarely edited and if they are it's usually because my webcam pictures can be dark and grainy
+ I don't work from home or in a barn where I save horses in my spare time
+ I don't have children to parade before a camera so I use my cats
+ I post the good, the bad, the sad, and the ugly
+ I swear and I admit to crying and hangovers (although much more rare now)
+ I'm currently broke and trying to pay off credit cards
+ I work at a non-glamorous 9-5 job at a law firm
+ I will not be opening an Etsy shop where I sell my refurbished petrified wood picture frames
I'm sure some people will take offense to this and I mean none. I'm just stating the types of blogs I prefer to read. I'm also pointing out how not everyone rolls out of bed with their hair perfect and their homemade applesauce ready to be eaten for breakfast.

Abandoned blogs of yore
Lately I've been coming across old blogs that haven't been updated for years. The writer was blogging away and then one day just stopped. I wonder how many blogs that I like reading now will end the same way. It's sad to think about. I'd like to think that I'll be blogging for years to come. I can't see my motivation waning anytime soon. I'm sure my four readers are very happy about this.
I recently found a really old livejournal of mine. The name of the journal was lame. I don't even know what I meant by it. I've actually tried to figure out what was going on in my head and I have no idea how I came up with the name for that journal. I used the journal to vent when I was going through a really rough time health wise and I left that journal and moved on to a different livejournal with an equally lame name. I've kept those journals up to remind me of my teenage/early 20s angst. I can't even delete the horribly angsty one if I tried because I can't remember my password or the e-mail I used to sign up for that thing. One more reason why I can never run for president.
I use to read Ari Goes Down back in the day. I wonder if she's still blogging because I loved her blog. If anyone knows please fill me in.*
Everywhere I go I keep hearing If I Die Young by The Band Perry and for a while I thought it was Taylor Swift. Turns out they just have similar voices and similar hair. So now I'm kind of obsessed with this song and I really don't want to be. I also get really emo when I watch this video. I can't think about the meaning of the song. Thanks a lot The Band Perry. I really think you should drop "the band" and just go by Perry. Otherwise I will start going by the human Virginia.
*I totally found her new blog because I am an internet super sleuth!!!!!!

The #college students are going to kill me or drive me insane
I was dragging at work yesterday. I didn't really take the time to recover from camping. Combine that with crappy weather and playing catch up at work and I just wanted the day to be over. Oh but it's not over yet! I have to take the T home. The college students have returned! Complete with giant back packs and Ugg boots.
Please stop hitting me with your giant back pack or I will beat you with your own Uggs. Good old B train you never fail to annoy me in some way. Also, did I talk that loud and fast when I was 18? Dear lord I'm sorry if I did.

Moving on I'm rocking some kick ass burns on my left hand.
Thumbs up to leper hand.
I sound like such a cranky pants. Really things are looking up now that I got some sleep. I also have to say that your comments are really making my life lately. I feel like I've been more free in my blogging and just writing what's going on in my life and in my head and you guys have really been responding to that. So thank you. I love your comments and I try to visit all your blogs because I like to share the internet love and there are tons of fantastic blogs out there.
Blogging is so much more fun when you just let your thoughts go and just write it out.
