I always wondered what the cats did when I left the house. Now I know that Bosco is a part time kitty model.
He's now on the cover of deadmau5's new album.
For comparison, here is what he looks like on a day off.
He's a plus size model.
Now that I know about his modeling career it's time for him to pay up. He's needs to contribute to this household. I also need to set up a meeting with deadmau5 to discuss royalties.

A surprise for the cats
I was at Trader Joe's doing some food shopping when I spotted this card board cat scratcher. I usually get Bosco and Mr. Binx a new scratcher every couple of months. They are big fans, especially Bosco.
Mr. Binx gets in on the action too. Bosco thinks the scratcher is his. He's always sitting or sleeping on it and Mr. Binx will get in a quick scratch when he can. I keep telling Bosco to share but due to him being a cat he ignores me.
I got the double wide since Bosco is not a small cat (17lbs!!!)
Bosco wasted no time testing out the new scratcher.
I was trying to be sneaky and take pictures but I was caught.
Testing continues.

The cost of a kitty
What I've lost due to my cat Bosco.
* vet: Bosco's blood sugar is a little high
me: Oh, that's probably because he ate a bunch of pineapple yesterday
vet: ........ok
- one spider plant
- pineapple from two slices of Hawaiian pizza*
- one terracotta pot
- drinking glasses (unknown quantity)
- one night stand
- one loaf of bread
- two sandwiches

It's always fun when your cats wake you up chasing a mouse
I woke up around midnight to shuffling in the corner of my studio. I had fallen asleep with the tv on so I could see both cats in the corner doing something. It's no good when the cats are doing "something" in the corner. It's like two kids that just found matches. I sit up to get a better look and that's when I see something tiny go running across the floor with both cats taking off after it.
A fucking mouse.
I immediately yell to Bosco "Don't touch it! You just got over tape worm!" Bosco ignores me and comes to a sliding stop around the area where the mouse ran to. Mr. Binx is sitting right near him. I throw off my blankets and turn on the light. I get down on my hands and knees trying to see if I can find the mouse. I don't have a plan. It's not like I can catch it but I feel like when you see a mouse you at least look for it. The mouse is no where to be found.
Now I'm freaking out because I don't want Bosco to eat another flea from a mouse and get a tape worm again. My other thought is - has he eaten a mouse before? How else would he ingest a mouse flea? I mean good job for being super mouser cat but I'd prefer that he not get tape worm again.
I'm hoping that the cats are scaring the mice away. Bosco can spot a bug a mile away. Anything moving (or not moving) that is alive he will attempt to get it. If I hadn't stepped in I'm sure Bosco would have killed the mouse. I would have let him except that I don't want him to get a tape worm again from a damn mouse flea.
I haven't seen any signs of mice. No mouse poop on any of the counters, floor or shelves in the kitchen. No holes in cereal boxes. I know the signs because I've lived through a mouse infestation before. I don't hate mice. I use to have pet mice. But I don't want them in my apartment.
Apparently mice don't like the smell of peppermint. Maybe I should buy some old candy canes left over from Christmas and hide them around my apartment. Or even better, get the cats to eat candy canes so when they open their mouths they have fresh breath and keep the mice away.
So mouse. Go tell all your mouse friends "There are two cats there guys. One has the eyes of a hawk and is really large. The other one is smaller but a good backup. There also seems to be a candy cane infestation. Let's find another human to terrorize."

Cats are not cheap and they don't care.
Bosco had his dental surgery yesterday. My vet called me when he was through and said he did well and explained what he did. He cleaned his teeth and had to pull four of them. Oh and he has a tape worm! I knew it. I told him to check for worms because I googled his symptoms and everything pointed to a tape worm. Apparently he somehow somewhere ate a flea. He doesn't have fleas but he ingested one and got a tape worm. Both cats do not go outside but there are dogs in my building and I have let them out in the hall outside my door as a little adventure. He also could have ingested a flea from a mouse. I haven't seen a mouse but this is an old building.
The total cost of this vet trip: $1,350.00. Just typing that out makes me want to vomit.
I had a good cry after I got off the phone with the vet because that's what I do when I get really angry or really sad or really happy. I can totally relate to Kristen Bell on that. Just when I think I'm getting back on my feet something comes along that empties my bank account. I know I'm not the only one this happens to but this is my blog so woe is meeeeeeeee!!! My mother has offered to pay for the hotel room when we go to visit my brother and baby Hunter which is really nice of her. I just need to scrape up money for the plane ticket.
I need to list a few things that are good right now so I don't flip out.
Bosco is doing good. He's was sleepy when he got back. The vet tech said he was the sweetest cat and when they put him on a little blanket when he was waking up he started being all cute and kneading it with his paws.
Look at all the meds I have for him! Ugh, crazy. The vet expects me to force pills down his throat multiple times a day. My mom told me to wet the meds and then mush it in with food. The medicine for the tape worm must be gross because both cats would not touch it in their food so I had to hold them down and make them take it which was awful. Luckily that is done until two weeks when they need it again. The other pill that I can't sprinkle in food I crushed up and hid in deli turkey. Bosco ate it up no problem. I also have to squirt pain meds in his mouth. After he takes it he looks nuts. His eyes get all huge and he stares off into space. It's really funny.
No if only I could get a medicine for wallet pain?
Ok after this, I will stop talking about cats so much, I swear.

- the guy at the corner store being super nice.
- the giant bag of Reese's Pieces I bought.
- the cats don't have fleas.
- it's super nice out yesterday.
Hey! I'm trying to write a check here fluffers.

Cover me cause I'm changing lanes
Well the River freaked me out as I thought it would. I was doing pretty good until they got to the part in the jungle with all the dolls. I knew at some point one of the dolls was going to move and I was going to flip out. And flip out I did. I covered my eyes with my hands like I was eight yeas old. I'm also really disturbed by how often the characters just jump into the Amazon river like it's not big deal. Aren't there a million things that could kill you in that water? I've played Tomb Raider. I know all about this.
I got more birthday goodies in the mail. Germana got my a subscription to Birchbox. I got my first shipment today and loved all of the little goodies. I like how it's a surprise. This month was sort of a welcome package but I went online and filled out my profile (dry skin, vampire white, fine oily hair) so next month I should get more specific products. My favorites were the Jouer lip gloss and the Zoya nail polish in Kristen. I'm strongly considering buying the full size of the lip gloss. I can't wait to see what I get next month.
My nails are really short right now. They keep breaking which is annoying. Well except for that thumb nail. That's the lone ranger that hasn't broken yet.
Bosco goes to the vet tomorrow for his pricey dental work. I'm really hoping that the bill is going to be what they told me but I'm preparing myself for it to be more. Good thing I had my kidneys checked out recently. I may need to sell one.
Before I head out to work I'm going to amp myself up with a little M.I.A. Totally digging this song right now. I have some amazing dancing moves to go along with it.

Fashion cats for my birthday.
Fashion cats all up in this blog! This would be my birthday present from some of my fav bloggers. They know me too well.
Mr. Binx and Bosco read Fashion Cats. I told them to pick out outfits but they don't seem to be interested in kitty couture.
The best part of Fashion Cats is not the photos of cats in kitty clothing, it's the introduction of the book. It reads like an interview with the creative mind behind Fashion Cats.
From this "interview" we learn that the creator of fashion cats hears voices in her head but it's just God telling her to "do something". That "do something" is to make clothes for cats. I really wish God would tell me what my calling is. If it's goldfish clothing I'll do it!
The only opinions she listens to is that of fortune-tellers and people with mystical powers. I prefer wizards myself but to each their own. Dumbledore and Gandalf know what's up. If I was going to seek advice from anyone it would be them.
I was going to do a vlog but my good webcam is not syncing up and by that I mean the picture and the sound does not match. I have a built in webcam but the picture quality is horrible. Maybe I'll do it anyways.
I'm so pumped for my birthday party tonight.
I'm 28 or a million whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
p.s. Thank you Ally for my postcard! I hope to visit Gay Street someday. If you would like to send me a postcard for my postcard wall email me ginnyissassy@gmail.com

Too much time on the internets. Stop being so interesting.
I told Bosco that with his upcoming expensive dental surgery he was going to have to do some work around the house. Earn his keep. First up sorting my mail. He's "working on it".
I can't get enough stickers lately. The problem is I don't know what to do with them. I look at them and think how cute and fun they are and then I put them away. The Sailor Moon stickers are from my mom. I was obsessed with Sailor Moon as a kid and she found these stickers at a shop that her boyfriend's son-in-law runs. Tuxedo Mask is a dream boat. I mean he throws roses for god's sake!
This is Ginny's quick and easy white pizza. I use shredded cheese, ricotta cheese and olives. Sometimes I mix it up and use feta and broccoli instead. It's so good. Dave thinks I eat too much cheese. Uh that is false. You can never eat too much cheese.
I think I need to limit my internet time at home. I gave myself I wicked headache yesterday from staring at my computer screen all day long. I blame all of you and your awesome blogs. I went to bed last night with my mind racing and my eyes aching. New rule where I get off the computer an hour before bed to unwind.

Everyday I'm hustlin' (for my damn cat)
I brought Bosco to the vet today which is always fun times. He is a very good cat when he goes. He doesn't try to bite or scratch the vet and all I have to do to get him into the carrier is open the door. He has no idea what's going on and is all "oh cool a new thing I can crawl into...wait...NOOOOOOO!" At least this is what I imagine he says.
The vet tells me that he lost about a pound which is good because he is fat. He now weighs 16lbs rather than 17lbs. What's not good is that he needs a dental cleaning. Being a life long cat owner I know that this is going to cost me approximately one of my kidneys, possible a spleen as well.
The cost of today's visit totaled $317.00
The cost of the dental surgery will be between $500-$600. I'm guessing it will be more than that. Poor baby though. I could see that his gums were inflamed and one tooth looks really bad. He's on antibiotics for ten days. Good thing he eats anything so I can sprinkle it in his food.
So this cat lady needs to hustle and earn some more green. I can see it now, hanging out on the street corner.
Random lady: "I need money to support my 5 kids."
Me: "I need to pay for my cat's dental cleaning."
Everyday I'm hustlin'
He's lucky he's so cute. He really is a trophy cat. He sits at home all day. I work and bring home the cat food and cuddle with him and tell him how cute he is.
I am attempting to train him to be more helpful around the house. I'm starting slow with teaching him how to brush my hair.

My cat has a shoe fettish and I need some carbs stat
So I think I have a problem.
Bosco has a shoe fetish.
These two pictures were taken about three minutes apart. I guess he was done with sandals and it was time to move on to flats. I can't leave any type of footwear on the floor because he will find a way to lay on them. He's also fat so sometimes this messes with the shape of the shoe. I suppose there are worse fetishes my cat could have.
Last night I went to a restaurant on the South Shore called Alma Nove. It's run by Paul Wahlberg, yes that Wahlberg family. Sadly there were no sightings of Marky Mark or the Funky Bunch. I had the beet salad and it was delicious. I'm picky about my beet salad and I suppose now's the time to admit to you all that I love my beets. True story!
My date was a young gentleman who has great taste in music and knows how to shoot a gun. He does not like to hunt animals though. Two points for the young gentleman! In all seriousness he's really very sweet and treats me like a lady. He's a few years younger than me but seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He'll be 24 before I'm 28 which is important to me for no good reason. Also! He has the hair that I like. I'm a sucker for a dude with a nice head of hair. I'm not going to lie, it's just the way it is.
He showed me around the beach area and we had a drink overlooking the water with a fire pit. We made fun of the music that was being played (no more Train please. I don't care if Meet Virginia is on). I wanted to take some pictures of the view for the blog but I thought that would be rude during a date. I did manage to send out one tweet. Bad Ginny, I know. He was in the bathroom though when I tweeted. I'm not that rude. Social media has taken over my life.
I got home around 1 a.m. That's way past my bed time on a work night but I was having a good time. Now all I want to do is stuff my face full of carbs. Ahhhh starchy goodness! I crave carbs when I'm tired. It's horrible. I'll probably be eating all day. This is my brain on tired. Tomorrow is Friday so let's perk up around here.
