Stalking is ok if you're a vampire

I keep thinking it's Friday but SURPRISE it's still very much Thursday.

This weekend Melissa's friend Bonnie is coming into town so we're going to take her out and show her a good time. I hope Bonnie's idea of a good time is dancing to music that was really popular back in 2005 because that's what's happening.

Derek is leaving for New York tomorrow. I was invited but declined as I do not want to sleep on a couch at a fraternity, plus he should have his guy time with his friends. I think I'm going to stay in Friday night and watch netflix with the kitties in my pjs.

Maybe I'll start watching Vampire Diaries again. I'm trying to get into it but it hasn't happened. Does anyone else find it creepy that the premise of this show is "you look like the love of my life who is dead so we should totally be together because you look like her". On the creepy Edward Cullen vampire scale I give that a 7. Not to mention Stephen stalks her.

Here I am at your school!

Here I am in the grave yard!

Here I am at your house!

Stalking is ok if you're a hot vampire apparently. We learned this from Twilight.

Actually I don't find Stephen hot. I'm team Damon.

Yep. Team Damon for sure.

I apologize if you're a dude reading this blog. I have no idea how this turned into a Vampire Diaries post.

Is it Friday yet?

On getting sucked into watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer all over again

Has anyone else been sucked into Buffy the Vampire Slayer all over again now that it's on Netflix instant? I was in junior high when Buffy first aired and I was instantly hooked. I loved the characters, the dialogue and the story lines. I laughed and I cried. Oh did I cry. I was a mess when Angel lost his soul and turned back into Angelus. As I'm watching the series again I'm emailing with some of my favorite blogger ladies, discussing our favorite episodes (such as Hush and Normal Again) and our not so favorite story lines (Riley anyone?).

Basically, the whole point of this post is that Buffy is still an amazing series and I can't believe how long ago 1997 actually was.

And if you like Buffy you should check out HEX. It's like Buffy but there's a lesbian ghost and Michael Fassbender.

How to get on the Bachelor.

Grow up on a farm and look 5-10 years older than you actually are and you too can be on the Bachelor.

Is it a prerequisite to come from a wealthy family to be on the Bachelor? I don't know why I'm just noticing this now but when ever we get to the home town dates the families homes are absolutely ridiculous.

Apparently everyone grew up on a horse farm or in an orchard or some other equally tv ready picturesque place.

"For fun we have carriage races!"

Really? REALLY! Because that's completely normal. Did anyone grow up in a tiny rented house with barely any money? Not on the bachelor.

And why does no one look their age? If someone is 24 she looks 34. You age by at least ten years the second you are chosen to be on the Bachelor. I'm 28 and half of these woman look like they could be my mom.

Kacie B you were my girl. Really I liked you but how are you 24 years old!

Cover me cause I'm changing lanes

Well the River freaked me out as I thought it would. I was doing pretty good until they got to the part in the jungle with all the dolls. I knew at some point one of the dolls was going to move and I was going to flip out. And flip out I did. I covered my eyes with my hands like I was eight yeas old. I'm also really disturbed by how often the characters just jump into the Amazon river like it's not big deal. Aren't there a million things that could kill you in that water? I've played Tomb Raider. I know all about this.

I got more birthday goodies in the mail. Germana got my a subscription to Birchbox. I got my first shipment today and loved all of the little goodies. I like how it's a surprise. This month was sort of a welcome package but I went online and filled out my profile (dry skin, vampire white, fine oily hair) so next month I should get more specific products. My favorites were the Jouer lip gloss and the Zoya nail polish in Kristen. I'm strongly considering buying the full size of the lip gloss. I can't wait to see what I get next month.

My nails are really short right now. They keep breaking which is annoying. Well except for that thumb nail. That's the lone ranger that hasn't broken yet.

Bosco goes to the vet tomorrow for his pricey dental work. I'm really hoping that the bill is going to be what they told me but I'm preparing myself for it to be more. Good thing I had my kidneys checked out recently. I may need to sell one.

Before I head out to work I'm going to amp myself up with a little M.I.A. Totally digging this song right now. I have some amazing dancing moves to go along with it.

My current workout routine.

I did not want to get up early today to face Jillian Michaels today. I then remembered that massive cheese burger and french fries I ate for lunch yesterday so I forced myself out of bed with a little whimper. Once I get going I wake right up but the last thing on my mind when I first wake up in the morning is working out. It's been an adjustment waking up early to work out but I do like getting it over with first thing.

I thought I'd share what my routine has been since I'm not following the 30 Day Shred program exactly. You're suppose to do the 30 Day Shred every day. My body is not having that. You need a day off here and there for your muscles to recover. I try to do the Shred or Ripped in 30 every other day. I also don't follow the levels in the exact order. One day I'll do level 3 and the next work out I'll do level 1. I like to mix it up so I don't get bored. You'll also notice that I'm doing both the 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30. They are similar in style, and both by Jillian Michaels, but the workouts are different enough that I think it's worth having both. I find Ripped in 30 a bit harder. I've been doing this since the end of December and I'm not bored yet. Once the weather is warmer I'll add some more walking/running outside. I've noticed the most difference in my arms. I'm still having trouble with regular push ups. Something I need to work on.

The River premieres tonight. I'm pretty excited about this show. I like scary with mystery not so much blood and gore. I'm probably going to have a hard time going to sleep after watching this show. Why do I do this to myself? I love being scared. Until it's time for bed...

Off to work with my low sugar oatmeal for breakfast. Very exciting stuff

Favorite TV shows of 2011

I've decided over the next few days to recap 2011. I'll be sharing lists of my favorite movies, books, music and personal moments. I'll also be sharing what I'm looking forward to in 2012.

Favorite TV shows of 2011

American Horror Story

This show was CREEPY. I had nightmares about it and had to stop watching it before I went to bed. I've always loved a good haunted house story and American Horror delivered. Tate and Violet are my new favorite couple despite how crazy Tate is. And Jessica Lange was pretty fantastic as Constance. I'm glad American Horror will be continuing but in a new location with new characters.

Is it wrong that I have a crush on Tate? Probably.....

Two Broke Girls

This show snuck up on me. I thought it was ok at first but as the season progressed I really started enjoying it. I needed a little comedy in my life and Two Broke Girls is way better than Two and a Half Men. I also totally have a girl crush on Kat Dennings. How could you not?

Once Upon a Time

I'm a sucker for fairy tales. I admit it. I'm also a sucker for a good bitch. And hey Ginnifer Goodwin is not annoying me in something! I have to say that the evil characters tend to be my favorite on this show. I don't know how many seasons this show can last (at some point they have to be clued into the curse and what's really happening) but for now I'm enjoying it.

Downton Abbey

My favorite show of 2011. I love period pieces and PBS knows how to bring the drama. The story is great, the characters are great, the acting is great, can I use great anymore? This show is great. I suggest you check it out even if period dramas aren't normally your thing. I can't wait for the January premiere of season 2. It's going to be like Christmas even though it's not!

You're probably wondering where Game of Thrones is one here and the answer is I haven't seen it yet. You see, I'm poor because I live in Boston where I pay $145.00 a month for a parking spot so I must wait for it to come out on Netflix. It would be on my list if I had actually watched it.

The #Emmys

Has anyone noticed that the Emmys are always deemed "boring" or "dull".  Every year after a major awards show I check the internets to see what other people thought of the show and it's always the same thing.  The host is blasted for doing a sub par job.  The jokes and skits always fall flat.  Has anyone every written a positive review of an awards show?  I don't expect award shows to be super exciting and entertaining.  I watch them for the outfits and for the actors and actresses reactions to winning (or losing).  The day someone writes a positive review of an awards show I may keel over.

I was very happy that Downton Abbey won multiple awards.  That show is so good!  And Peter Dinklage winning for best supporting actor in a drama series made my night.  Well deserved.

Are you not watching this show?  Because you should be.  It's fantastic!
