Camping continued including #clownboob

My right wrist and hand are killing me right now. I'm sure it's from too much typing and interneting. I should be taking it easy but I must blog! I have a problem. I swear I'm going to rest after this post. I'm going to watch a bit of the DNC and then head to bed.

I only have a few pictures on my camera from camping since I forgot to charge the battery but I promised to reveal clown boob and reveal I shall.

Chris shows off the clown boob. I'd really like to know who thought this was a good design for a balloon. I wasn't the only one who instantly started cracking up the second we saw it. This then led into a whole conversation about clown strippers and that is just a horrifying thought. Don't think about it, I'm sorry I brought it up.

Here's Derek playing horse shoes. I don't think he knew I was being sneaky and taking pictures. This is your life when you date a blogger ha ha.

I read up on kittens. That silky fur was SOFT.

It's not camping without a fire! I like my marsh mellows burnt for future reference.

Until next year camping. It was fun times.

Dirty feet means successful camping trip

I'm back from my camping trip. My camera died after only taking a few pictures because I forgot to charge it before I left. You'll have to wait to see the photo of the mysterious "clown boob".

The weather was pretty nice during the day but a little cold at night. I've been camping forever so I knew to pack tons of layers. I looked like a miss matched hobo but I was warm. Derek wasn't going to pack a sweatshirt but I made him. Don't be fooled by a nice warm day. It gets really cool at night in Plymouth. Just ask the pilgrims.

I was semi internet less. I did check my email and facebook from my phone though. I was trying to be sneaky about it but Derek caught me. I can't help it! I like to be connected. I didn't carry it around with me though, I kept it in the tent or in the car and only checked it once or twice a day.

Oh and I used gimp. Remember gimp? It's awesome. I missed it.

More pictures coming. I need to go scrub the crap out of my feet.

Almost camping time

I leave to go camping tomorrow morning and I'm going to eat so many twizzlers and marsh mellows and it's going to be amazing. I've been going to the same campground for over ten years. I have a lot of fun camping memories.

Such as:

+ Getting stuck in the mud and losing my shoes
+ Getting stuck in a hammock
+ Getting ready for the campground dance to impress all the boys
+ Drinking too much sambuca and insisting I saw predator in the woods. But don't worry, he didn't attack me because I was unarmed and alone (I'm such a nerd even when intoxicated)
+ Finding baby mice under a canoe and making them a little home in a box

I'm seeing a theme of my getting stuck in things here. But to be fair I got stuck in the hammock because Dave flipped me over in it and I had my hands and feet intertwined in the rope. This left me stuck face down about an inch above the ground which had Dave in hysterics and me yelling that I was stuck.

Expect lots of pictures and possibly a "Ginny got stuck" story when I return.

Roughing it. Sort of...

I have returned from camping.  I somehow managed to forget the polls for my tent and my air mattress.  Good one Ginny.  Luckily someone had an extra tent and an air mattress.  Yeah yeah I rough it with an air mattress.  I don't know where my brain was when I was packing.  I'm usually really good at double checking everything before I go away.

Recently the holder for my GPS stopped working.  The suction cup won't stay so I had to MacGyver it onto my ashtray.  After that I was on my way to Plymouth.  Yes I camp in the land of the pilgrims.

I had some double sided tape so I worked it out.

I love camping.  Campfires, swimming, marsh mellows and eating.  Lots and lots of eating.  I do have some requirements while camping - a bathroom and a shower.  I'm not using nature's bathroom for a whole weekend.

Every morning I'd wake up to this view of trees from my tent.

This is a yearly event and I'm always sad when we pack up to leave because to me it signals the end of summer and I love summer.  I have no problem with fall it's just what comes after it that I hate.

I can't believe it's September!  What happened summer?  I do love Halloween though.  I already have my costume planned out.  It will involve fake blood.  YES.

#Moving day in Boston. Hide yo kids hide yo wife!

Check out my new header.  It was all Kelly's doing.  I put out the call on facebook for some help on creating a blog header.  I'm stuck with MS paint on this laptop and considering it's not mine I don't want to download too many programs.  Also, I suck at these kind of things.  Kelly did an awesome job especially considering I didn't give her much to go on.  I owe her for sure.

My brother and his wife arrived safely in Boston.  I've been going non stop since they arrived.  Pick up from airport, family dinner, baby shower planning, drinks with Melissa, funeral, doctors appointment.  I'm also going camping at some point this weekend to visit more friends who are here visiting.  One came all the way from Hawaii.

As busy as I've been my time has been mostly spent with friends and family so I can't complain.  Plus it's the beginning of September and I'm not moving!  I hate moving.  I live on a pretty major street in Boston and the sidewalk is full of people's stuff.  It's insane up in here!

I could barely make it down the sidewalk.  I walked by an older Asian woman screaming at some movers.  They were clearly fed up with her.  "I'm not listening to you anymore!"  Apparently they were not moving stuff off the truck in the proper way and she could barely speak English.  I'm glad she's not moving into my building.  She would totally interrupt my solo dance parties.

I think being a mover would be my job from hell.  It's right up there with being a day care worker.  I'm glad other people do it so I don't have to.

Time to get packing for camping.  I can't wait to see everyone.
