It was absolutely beautiful here in Boston today. I needed a good dose of sun. Better yet, it's going to be in the high 80s Marathon Monday. Great for me, not so much for the runners. I can see that barricades going up around the city. Our office is closed Monday as are a lot of Boston businesses. I'll walk over to Beacon Street and hang out at Washington Square tavern all day. Marathon Monday is so much fun! I'm giddy like a kid on Christmas Eve.
I have to share with you what my favorite Irish blogger, Harley, sent to me in the mail. It was a complete surprise and really made my day. Actually it made my week.
First up is this really cute heart necklace. I love it and I've been wearing it all week!
Next up is a painting of Me as Snow White. This girl has more talent in her pinky than I have in my whole body. I want to frame it and hang it up.
Now it's time for me to stuff my face with Chinese food. Long live Saturday Night!

Look what I got in the mail and help me with my postcard wall
I love opening my mail box and having fun mail. Letters, post cards, packages are all fun mail. Bills and promotional fliers are not fun mail.
Liz has a great blog and super cute etsy shop. She recently posted about how to make a fabric necklace and offered to give away the two she made to her readers. I just happened to be one of those readers.
I love this fabric because it reminds me of the curtains Maria used to make the children play clothes in the Sound of Music. Now I just need to climb some trees and fall out of a canoe.
This second necklace was an extra surprise. It's an actual twig painted gold. I absolutely love it!
I've been really into wearing necklaces lately. I don't wear much jewelery in general but I feel like the right necklace can really make an outfit.
I seem to be in a crafty mood this weekend. I decided to start hanging up postcards I've gotten from people on my wall. So far I have postcards from France, London and New Orleans (all from bloggers). I want to cover the whole area above my bed.
If you want to send me a postcard in the mail I'd be really grateful and I'll even send one back to you! It's like the olden days when people actually sent real mail. If you're interested e-mail me at ginnyissassy@gmail.com or leave a comment and I'll send you my address. My only request is that it's a postcard of a place so I can keep with the theme.
I'm overly excited about my postcard wall.

Cats in my mail box
I came home from work today to find the best postcard ever!
Sweeney Says is currently studying in France (lucky lady) and sent me this postcard. I think what she wrote on the back sums it up pretty nicely.
Ginny: This postcard is ridiculous and it has a cat. That's pretty much why you're getting it of course.
I will put this on my fridge next to an old birthday card that has cats with hats fishing off of a boat.

Carb fest
I'm half asleep and shoving a bagel in my mouth. Carbs and I are bffs when I'm tired. The guys at the venture capitalist firm on our floor invited us out for drinks last night. They are all married with kids but man can they hang! We had delicious pizza at the Salty Pig and then moved on to Clerys for a few and then I went with Megan back to her place and sat on her stoop with her three dogs. I was holding Carter like he was a cat. He thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am one tired lady this morning.
I was tweeting back and forth with my friend Chris on the T this morning. I met him at an AFI show a few years ago and we chased their bassist Hunter down the street for an autograph. He recently moved to California and he enjoys tweeting at Devon Sawa almost as much as I do. The whole point of this little story is that I love twitter and I love how it keeps me connected to people. Sure there's texting but texting doesn't have hashtags or Devon Sawa. Chris is a big fan of my hashtags. You should follow him because of all these things and because he'll probably wonder where all these new followers came from. @chrisautomatica
In my tired state I found this quote from Sara extremely funny.
"We went on a date and rode a roller coaster. I guess I even take things slow in my dreams. :) "
Still finding this hysterical. Happy Friday!

Work hard, play hard, with a dash of lazy.
Have I really not posted since Monday? That is very unlike me but work has been super busy and by the time I get home I'm ready for bed. But here I am, blogging in my pajamas. I think I've earned a lazy Saturday after my hectic work week.
Last night I ventured to Rhode Island to see a Pink Floyd tribute band called the Machine. Apparently they are the oldest Pink Floyd tribute band in the U.S. I'm not a huge Pink Floyd fan but they were very good. Also, they have a female drummer which I think is pretty awesome. I made it home at 4 a.m. which is why I'm still in my pajamas being lazy. Dave had to work at 9 this morning. I feel bad for him.
Tonight I'm heading out to meet up with Suki who happens to be in town. I think a few other bloggers will be making an appearance as well. I'm definitely going to need a nap before tonight.
I plan on finishing Clockwork Angel at some point this weekend. I'm blowing right through it and book two doesn't come out until December. I really wish I had known this before I started the series. I'm very impatient when I really like a series. Waiting for Harry Potter to be finished almost killed me.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend readers!

#Moving day in Boston. Hide yo kids hide yo wife!
Check out my new header. It was all Kelly's doing. I put out the call on facebook for some help on creating a blog header. I'm stuck with MS paint on this laptop and considering it's not mine I don't want to download too many programs. Also, I suck at these kind of things. Kelly did an awesome job especially considering I didn't give her much to go on. I owe her for sure.
My brother and his wife arrived safely in Boston. I've been going non stop since they arrived. Pick up from airport, family dinner, baby shower planning, drinks with Melissa, funeral, doctors appointment. I'm also going camping at some point this weekend to visit more friends who are here visiting. One came all the way from Hawaii.
As busy as I've been my time has been mostly spent with friends and family so I can't complain. Plus it's the beginning of September and I'm not moving! I hate moving. I live on a pretty major street in Boston and the sidewalk is full of people's stuff. It's insane up in here!
I could barely make it down the sidewalk. I walked by an older Asian woman screaming at some movers. They were clearly fed up with her. "I'm not listening to you anymore!" Apparently they were not moving stuff off the truck in the proper way and she could barely speak English. I'm glad she's not moving into my building. She would totally interrupt my solo dance parties.
I think being a mover would be my job from hell. It's right up there with being a day care worker. I'm glad other people do it so I don't have to.
Time to get packing for camping. I can't wait to see everyone.

Congratulations you have a urinary tract infection!
That would be what my doctor said to me when she walked in the room today. Let me tell you work was fun today. So is peeing. TMI? Welcome to my blog. Now I'm going to say a little prayer that the antibiotic doesn't make me vomit. There's about a fifty percent change it will. Fingers crossed!
I got home from work to a nice little surprise in my mail box though.
HUNGER GAMES!!!!!!!!! This almost made me forget that I'm peeing razor blades. Nugs mailed this to me as a little surprise. Thanks Nugs! This made my day! Is it March yet? I'm ready for this movie NOW.
Are you team Gale or team Peeta?

Rogue sparkle
I woke up to a bed full of glitter. I suppose this is what happens when you let the lead singer of an all male Lady Ga Ga cover band spray your head with glitter or if you're Ke$ha. I think most of it came out in the shower but I'm still finding a rogue sparkle.
Speaking of the cover band, Alejandro and the Fame - they were pretty fantastic. They are a local band so I'll now be stalking them and requesting more glitter for my hair.
In actual news news - Whitey Bulger was captured near Los Angeles after being on the run for 16 years. I mentioned this to Nugs on the train this morning and she was all "who?" I suppose he's not as well known outside of Boston. The Departed was supposedly inspired by him.
I had a lovely little (or not so little) surprise this morning from some very special bloggers but I think I need to thank them in their own post because it was very thoughtful. I'm so lucky to have my internet BFFs.
