A run in

I can't sleep because I slept too much yesterday. Rough life, I know. I figured I would tell you a bit about my weekend.

AC is in! Of course now that I actually have AC we're going to have cooler temperatures this week. I'm at least prepared now for when it gets really hot out again.

Derek and I went and saw Ted at the Somerville theater which also happened to be the theater in the movie that Mark Whalberg and Ted were waiting in line dressed as Star Wars characters. The Quincy line had the whole theater cracking up but you probably wouldn't find that line very funny unless you're from Boston.

On the way out of theater we ran into an ex-boyfriend of mine. We're facebook friends but not friend friends. We never hang out but I'll say hi if I see you on the street.

We ended the night at PJ Ryans where I had one too many gin and tonics and woke up with a little bit of a head ache. Ooof. We slept in until 12:30 hence why I awake now at 5 a.m.

Back to work today with no vacation in sight. I need to take some time off in August because I don't like this working 5 days a week all the time thing.

I should probably not write blog posts at 5 a.m. because they come out like this.

The ex files and mystery rash

I can't sleep because I'm so itchy. It's horrible. I might have to tape pot holders to my hands because that's how bad I want to scratch. I gave up on trying to sleep so I'm blogging instead.

I promised to spill on the meeting with my ex. The original plan was to get drinks but that turned into getting some food and watching a movie with his roommate and roommates friend. This was fine with me. We ate Pop Eye's and watched The Island (a very underrated movie in my opinion). I was getting read to leave after the movie because I was all sleepy and drugged up on Benadryl but he asked me to stay for a little but so I did. We hung out and talked and I showed him my rash because I'm classy like that and it's not like he hasn't seen my butt before.

I think he thought we were going to hook up. I had to shoot that down. First of all I felt very much not hot with my awful rash. Second of all I just can't do the hook up thing. I don't need friends with benefits. I'm fine with just friends. He probably though I was a bitch but oh well. That's the way it is. I still had a good time.

The more I look at this rash (which involves staring at my butt in the mirror) the more concerned I am that I might be a leper. I am really hoping that I can get into the doctor today because I am going out of my mind over here. The medicine I got says to use no more than 3-4 times a day and I'm tempted to just squirt the whole think in a bucket and just sit in it. I'm using it was more than 3-4 times a day but I haven't heard of anyone over dosing on calamine lotion yet.

Wish me luck that I get into the doctor today, or at the very least a good leper colony.

Exciting updates, plant sitting and 50 Shades of Grey

Still no shower. I feel like I should get a girl scout badge for roughing it. It's tough dragging my barely awake ass down the street to use Melissa's shower.

Melissa - just so you know, I watered your plant John F. Plantington today. Also, just so you know, I named your plant John F. Plantington. The F stands for Fern but then I realized that's silly because John is not a fern but then I was too tired to think of anything else.

So I watered myself and Mr. Plantington. I'm really hoping my shower is functioning today. My bathroom was painted yesterday which is great and all but I think having a shower matters a bit more than fresh paint.

I'm currently reading 50 Shades of Grey and plan on doing a post about it when I'm done. It's slow going because I don't want to read this book out in public. Not because it's pretty much porn but because the writing is so bad I don't want people judging me. Maybe I should wear a shirt that says "I read Jane Austen too!" then on the back it would say "but I also read Twilight....."

My ex-boyfriend from 7 years ago sent me a message on OKCupid and I think we are meeting up for drinks. Why not? It will be fun to catch up.

Things I do not like: the Christmas music and facebook addition

Christmas music:  I'm sorry but it's the same songs over and over and over. I hear them once and I've had my fill for the year. There are people that absolutely lose it over Christmas music. "Oh my God I can finally listen to my Christmas music! This is the best day of my life! JINGLE BELLS FOREVER!"  Straight line face from me :| when that happens.

Facebook's new article thingy that I don't know what to call it:  Oh you trick me facebook. I see a friend has read an article and I'm like "hmmm well that looks interesting I should read that" and facebook is all "if you want to read this you have to have it plastered all over facebook that you've read this. Otherwise all your friends will think you are illiterate and can't read." Well facebook, I'm not sharing. Not everything needs to be known or shared despite what you think.

Hippie ex-boyfriends:  Talking with some of my favorite blogger friends the topic of ex-boyfriends came up.  More specifically how many of us have dated a hippie. My suggestion is that if you see a dude wearing a bandanna like a headband and he plays the banjo run RUN FAR AND FAST. If you're thinking you must have missed out by not having ever dated a hippie think again.

The cat's WWF or WCW or whatever the heck you call it, let's go with UFC fights:  My cats like to play and their favorite way to play is to wrestle each other at 6 a.m.  They're running back and forth, rolling on the floor, knocking crap over. When I am tired and hungover I can't deal. I yell at them like that will get them to stop "what did I tell you! I told you to cut it out!" Surprisingly they ignore me. This is also their passive aggressive way to wake me up so I'll feed them. I'm the only passive aggressive one allowed in this house cats!

Not having chips right now:  I don't think I need to explain this.

Wow It feels good to let the cranky old lady inside of me out every once in a while.

High heels are trying to kill me and was that that guy I use to date?

So walking back to my apartment at 4 a.m. the other night in high heels may not have been the best idea.  My right foot is hurting pretty bad in the middle of my foot.  According to Dr. Google (this is where I google my ailments and let the internets diagnose me) I may have sprained a ligament in my foot.  I've been icing it and trying to rest but unfortunately my day involves a bit of walking just getting to and from work.

I sat at my desk with an ice pack under foot.  It helped except that I had to keep getting up to actually do my work.  My desk job does not involve me sitting all day.

Time to get more cute flats.

So I'm hobbling my way back from the pharmacy after picking up a prescription and this guy crosses my path and starts walking ahead of me.  It was a guy that I had dated last winter who broke up with me during a new episode of Lost.  I remember being like "ok you're breaking up with me, but can you do this quicker because I'm watching Lost".

Clearly I wasn't that heartbroken.  Our age difference freaked me out a bit and he still lived like a 21 year old band dude when he was in his late 30s.  I still have no desire to run into him.  I have nothing to say except maybe "what was I thinking!"

He quickly veered into the liquor store though.  Dude was on a mission!  Glad that's your stop on your way home from work on a Monday.  Thumbs up!

I texted Melissa asap because she finds this sort of thing hilarious and this would be the second time he's just randomly popped up in front of me.  I have no idea why I ever dated this guy.
