Car wants revenge.

I admit it.  I'm not the best car owner.  I wait too long to get oil changes, I don't do much preventive car maintenance, I let my inspection sticker go for an extra month or two.  I've been good lately though, I swear it!  I got an oil change, had my tires rotated and finally got my inspection sticker.

After being a good car owner my car thought "now, now's the time to screw with you".

My power steering is gone.  There was a giant puddle under my car and you need the strength of Hercules to turn the wheel.  I just started laughing because what else can you do.  I just spent all of my savings getting my alternator fixed.  I don't have the money to get it fixed right now.  What I need is a new car.  Let's see if I can get that with $10.00 down.

I'm hoping it's something small like a hose broke.  It never is though is it.  Cars like to take your bank account eat it and then vomit all over your driveway.

Has anyone leased a car?  I'm considering going that route when I can save for a down payment but I've never leased before.  I just hate car repairs and would rather get a new car every few years.

  1. Sounds like you have a leak in your power steering fluid. Did you try replacing it? The fluid that is.

  2. Someone told me once that you should only lease since a car gets devalued when you own. I don't know. That person was a random person at a party. The point being. Trust everyone.

  3. I have not tried replacing it. I figure it would probably just leak back out. It was big puddle.

I trust drunken party people. I'm going to go with it.

  5. Leasing is great if you dont mind having a permanent (though slightly lower) car payment. I actually used to work at a car dealership (*hangs head in shame*) if you want to email/message me.

Also, there are stop leak products you can get if its a smallish-leak, but I have no idea if they work.
