new blog

After thinking long and hard I've decided to move blogs.

You can find me at my new blog Ginny in Boston.

The reason? Well a lot of family and friends know I blog and are asking me for the address. I use to treat this blog more as a personal journal and now I feel weird giving out this blog address for everyone to read my feelings.

I'll still be blogging about what I'm doing but I'm not going to be as personal. Don't worry. I'm not going to hide anything major that happens there just won't be those emotional livejournal era type posts.

I could go back and delete them but I don't want to. I'll probably make this blog password only at some point, not now, but at some point.

Also, I hate this blog name. HATE. (ginny is sassy not ginntastic)

I hope you'll follow me over to my new home. I will continue to read your blogs. PROMISE.

Kitties love cardboard

They don't love dusting.

Let's throw me a parade

Continuing with the self congratulations from my last post I would just like to say that I got up early today and went for a half hour walk. It was also raining. Ok it was not raining it was misting but there was still liquid in the air and it was still chilly.

I threw on my hoodie that is two sizes too big and went for a half hour walk. I am not a morning person at all so waking up early to move my body is a big deal. When I walk past a runner I want to yell to them "it was really hard for me to get up this morning but I did it!" And then I want them to high five me. This is the motivation I need.

I miss having cheap gym options. Boston likes to overcharge for everything and there are no Work Out Worlds for $10.00 a month. And no I am not going to the Planet Fitness in Government Center. It's too small and too far. I'm not sure what I'm going to do once it really gets cold. Probably curl up in my blankets and tell myself that I'll start up again in the spring but today; today I walked.

Why isn't there any nutmeg and parsnips are just albino carrots

I've decided that I need to cook for myself more and by cook for myself more I mean more than ravioli, mac and cheese and stir fry. I know I can cook it's just that I'm lazy and when I get home from work I don't want to spend 30 minutes prepping food and then having to wait while it cooks. It's torture for me because I can smell it and starving.

I've convinced myself to do this because if I cook once I'll have left overs for days which means no cooking at all a few nights a week!

I had butternut squash in the freezer so I decided to do something with that. I found this recipe for butternut squash and parsnip baked pasta.

First of all you can't just buy one parsnip so now I'm going to need to figure out what to do with this bag of parsnips.

Second of all why was there no nutmeg in the supermarket? All sold out! Does this have something to do with the pumpkin spice latte shortage I've been hearing about? And if someone is baking massive amounts of pie I think I should have some of that pie.

Despite no nutmeg it came out pretty good. I feel like this recipe would have been better for a Sunday night so I could eat before 8 p.m.

Basically this blog post is a big pat on my own back for cooking a delicious meal and although it still involved pasta it did not come from a blue box with powered cheese. And to complain about the supermarket being out of nutmeg.

Let's see if I can keep this up and feel free to share any of your yummy easy favorite recipes.

The best fan made video

I wanted to share a fan made video with you that I think it really well done. The band never made a video for this song as far as I'm aware, so a fan took care of that.

Mr. Bungle - Pink Cigarette

Creepy but really well done.

Party likes it's 2008

Last night we got the party started at dinner.

A very nice picture of me if I do say so. I must be saying something that starts with the letter F. Amy looks cute so I shall post it.

We split some pizza at Jimmy's (white for me) and then headed over to Golden Temple for some dancing times.

The ladies are ready, and Bonnie is getting ready to take many embarrassing pictures.

The dj is pretty bad. He doesn't believe in downloading music, he uses cds. This is what we were told when we requested Gangnam style. Ok, continue playing Michael Jackson, the Thong Song and any other song circa 2008.

Golden Temple attracts the weirdest crowd. Perfect people watching opportunity. We made some friends on the dance floor.

Ladies night family portrait.

There were quite a few cougars out which is no surprise for GT. Drunk college dudes is prime cougar playground. I don't judge. They're just having a good time.

I only had a few drinks so I'm feeling pretty great today. I didn't want to be hungover helping my cousin with her save the dates this afternoon.

I'm glad I finally got to meet Bonnie. Melissa has talked about her quite a bit. It's too bad she lives in Florida. She fits right in with the us and the GT dance party.

Today is a good day

Well internets. Today is a good day.

I found out that I can cancel my registration and turn in my plates for my car online. No scary trip to the Chinatown RMV. Apparently I just bend my plates and I'm done.

I also got flowers delivered to my work from Derek. The occasion? There is no occasion, just because. Out of all my years of dating, Derek is the only guy that has gotten me flowers. It's the little things that make a lady happy and honestly I don't know why I put up with a lot of the guys I dated (not all were bad but some were horrible!). I've dated and I've learned my friends.

And it's sunny! After days of fog and rain it's warm and sunny.

This girl is in a good mood.
