My current workout routine.

I did not want to get up early today to face Jillian Michaels today. I then remembered that massive cheese burger and french fries I ate for lunch yesterday so I forced myself out of bed with a little whimper. Once I get going I wake right up but the last thing on my mind when I first wake up in the morning is working out. It's been an adjustment waking up early to work out but I do like getting it over with first thing.

I thought I'd share what my routine has been since I'm not following the 30 Day Shred program exactly. You're suppose to do the 30 Day Shred every day. My body is not having that. You need a day off here and there for your muscles to recover. I try to do the Shred or Ripped in 30 every other day. I also don't follow the levels in the exact order. One day I'll do level 3 and the next work out I'll do level 1. I like to mix it up so I don't get bored. You'll also notice that I'm doing both the 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30. They are similar in style, and both by Jillian Michaels, but the workouts are different enough that I think it's worth having both. I find Ripped in 30 a bit harder. I've been doing this since the end of December and I'm not bored yet. Once the weather is warmer I'll add some more walking/running outside. I've noticed the most difference in my arms. I'm still having trouble with regular push ups. Something I need to work on.

The River premieres tonight. I'm pretty excited about this show. I like scary with mystery not so much blood and gore. I'm probably going to have a hard time going to sleep after watching this show. Why do I do this to myself? I love being scared. Until it's time for bed...

Off to work with my low sugar oatmeal for breakfast. Very exciting stuff

  1. Haha I know what you mean - when I first started running I thought "I think I'll do this every day"! The day after that I could barely walk due to sore muscles, so that went out the window pretty quick.

  3. You're excited for The River, too? I can't WAIT! I love scaring myself, too! I stayed up super late last night watching scary paranormal children, which is double-creepy because children are terrifying as it is.

  4. Pushups are effing HARD. Seriously. Who ever even came up with such a ludicrous idea as holding yourself up and lowering yourself down OVER and OVER again.

But good for you!! You can see from my latest post that I'm in the exact opposite state of mind. Mmmm butter.

    1. Michell Obama makes it look so easy and my arms just want to give out before I even make it to the ground.

    1. My body still needs a lot of work. I like food, what can I say. I do feel better at least working out a few days a week.

  6. Once you get started it's not that bad, but actually getting started is the hardest part for me when it comes to exercise. I just dread it.
