So when I saw this Jenna Marbles video called Interrupting Adele I wanted to high five her because this is pretty much how I feel about Adele in my life. She's EVERYWHERE.

I just don't get Adele
Adele has won more grammys than Jesus (well technically Jesus and I are both 0 for 0 on the grammy front) but I still don't understand why she's so popular. I have nothing against the girl, I just don't find her music appealing and I can't get away from her. Every time I turn on the radio "never thought I'd find someone like yoooooouuuuu!" I prefer my emo Dashboard and Death Cab. My ears can't take it anymore.

Most of it seems to be that she's seen as "fat" or at the very least "curvy" so it's like we have to be proud of her or something for putting herself out there. When really, she seems very average to me.
ReplyDeleteI could care less about her weight.
DeleteThe Adele craze does seem to have gone a little far. A bunch of us in my office yell angrily every time one of her songs comes on the radio.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to happen a lot.
DeleteMy ex was really into it, so I've listened to it quite a lot, and it's really quite unnerving how precisely she hits notes, as if she was some sort of high functioning soul robot.
ReplyDelete"Isn't that the point?" my ex asked, grumpily.
"Not for soul music! You want a bit of raw passion in there, not something you can set your watch to."
Yeah, listen next time you hear her, and you'll see what I mean!
So you're saying Adele is a robot. This actually makes sense.
DeleteI love Jenna Marbles! That video made my day yesterday.
ReplyDeleteShe cracks me up.
