When the boyfriend meets the family.

Dinner went really well last night. My mother had to say to Dave "you know we never meet any guy that she's dating. She's so secretive." This is true. I rarely introduce my family to someone I'm seeing, but there's a good reason. I always have it in my head that if I ask them to meet my family they will freak out and run. I also have a track record of my relationships only lasting a short amount of time so why introduce them to my family? I figured since I've met Dave's family and we're been together since the summer it was time. Also, my mother wouldn't stop asking me to meet him.

We had dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory. I'll never understand why that place is always a mad house. It's good but it's not let's wait an hour for a table because this food is amazing good. I ordered pasta that I'm pretty sure is going to leave me with garlic breath for a week. Let's make out!

My mother is an interesting gift giver. Interesting in a good way though. You never know what she's going to add into the gift bag but it's usually something you'll use. For example, I am now the proud owner of hello kitty band-aids because "you do trip a lot". Ok you know me well mom. I am a klutz. She also made me a card which is actually really cute.

My mom is really good at scrapbooking and apparently making cards. Yes that would be a baby picture of me. She gave me a little bit of money to help me out with the vet bill. Any little bit helps so I was really thankful for that.

Do I dare eat my left over pasta and reek of garlic again? I probably will.

  1. I am with you about Cheesecake Factory. There are a few locations around me and it is always a mad house and at least an hour wait. I like their fried mac and cheese but for what its worth, Id rather do curb side to go.

    1. That's what I do with the one near my work. We just order to go. That's the best way to do it.

  3. I am confused about you ordering pasta at a Cheesecake Factory. Surely all they have there is cheesecake in any flavour you can imagine? And MAC AND CHEESE, Jes?? What sort of a hellish place is this? Promises dessert but serves you mediocre italian food. What is wrong with this picture?

And your mom is so cute - what a nice card! How did you parents get on with Dave?

    1. Oh they do have a million kinds of cheesecake. They also have a huge regular menu with every type of food. So you get fat on pasta and then get cheese cake.

My mom is big into making cards and such. The meeting went well!

  4. Your mom is awesome. Mine is cool too, but pretty unoriginal at gift giving. It's usually a card and some money. Which I am DEFINITELY not complaining about, but never surprised by either. :p

I would love to go to the Cheesecake Factory, but there are none near me. :(

    1. That's too bad that you don't have a Cheesecake Factory near you. It's not my favorite place to eat but it is pretty good.

  5. I have never introduced a boyfriend to my family, except for the ones in high school, but that doesn't really count because I'm from a small town and everyone already knew everyone anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. For all my family knows, I've been living the life of a nun over the past nine years.
