I de-friended my cousin on facebook

I had to defriend a male cousin of mine on facebook. All of his updates are about woman he has dated that dumped him, calling them all sorts of names. I'm sorry but I don't want to read that crap on facebook. It really amazes me how much personal stuff people put on facebook.

Looks who's talking here. I'm a blogger. I'm all about sharing my life but this is why I blog. People can choose to come to my blog and read about my thoughts. On facebook it's pretty much right there in your face the second you log in. I don't need to know that it's your time of the month. I don't need to know that so and so is a skank. It's like we're all reverting to high school talking smack and being vague. "You know who you are". I hate that. Just tell the person to their face! Don't use facebook to air your dirty laundry.

Or you can go the route of my cousin and actually @theirname so you know exactly who he's talking about.

I actually hope that my cousin asks me why I defriended him. I want to tell him that I think his facebook updates are inappropriate and that he doesn't seem very happy right now and that as a woman I really have no desire to read updates about how all woman are horrible liars and whores.

Can you tell I'm ready for the weekend? I'm usually ready for the weekend when I go on a facebook rant.

  1. Ugh my sister used to have posts like that all the time. Then I would comment on them telling her why she was being stupid. She stopped, thankfully.

    1. I'm not very close to him so I haven't said anything but someone should.

  2. I get it. I talked about about kind of the same thing today regarding my twitter cleanup I just went through. I find with unfollowing on Twitter it's more "it's not you, it's me" whereas when it comes to defriending on Facebook, "it's not me, it's you".

  3. I deleted someone who, in a political argument, told me I've never had an original idea in my life. It was some douche from high-school who was kind of a jerk to me then. Ugh, FB is so bizarre sometimes.

    1. Wow that's quite a rude statement. Must have been mad because you're points were better than his ;)

  4. I tend to be a little more tolerant of stupid friends on my FB, especially since all I have to do is unsubscribe to their feed, and I never have to see them again. If it's still bad, I add them to my semi-annual Facebook Friend Purge List.

    1. I just don't want to put up with it. Why am I going to be friends with you when all you talk about is crap? You're much nicer.

  7. A girl in the sorority, I'm part of, does the exact damn thing. I believe if you have a problem with someone you tell it to their face not on facebook. Hope your weekend is awesome!
