I was so nervous yesterday. I was nauseous nervous. I do not get nauseous nervous before dates. Is this how people normally feel before dates? Because if so that's horrible. Being that stressed is not fun. I was worried that the date could be awkward or that at some point he would bring up that I dropped off the face of the planet but I was worried for nothing. There wasn't any awkwardness at all and he even said "next time....." meaning second date?
He thanked me for coming out which is when I had to blurt out "you shouldn't be thanking me! I was a total bitch last summer, I can't believe you even responded!" *slow clap*
There was no reason for him to be this nice and give me a second chance, but he did. I will be kicking myself in the butt for all eternity.
p.s. I promise this blog is not going to turn into a dating blog.
Ha. I'm working on a post about my first date with this new guy. I was so nervous I had to hold my beer with two hands and I was still shaking! It's okay to be nervous. And I'm glad he gave you a second chance: I think everyone (okay, most) people deserve second chances. And I'll still read your blog daily if it turns into a dating blog. I need my Ginny fix in the morning. :)
ReplyDeleteI hear a Ginny fix is better than a caffeine fix.
DeleteI think people have the capacity to empathize and understand more than we give them credit for :)
ReplyDeleteDon't beat yourself up for the rest of your life for blowing this guy off! He's accepted your apology and now you can *both* move on! And especially don't let that guilt get in the way of having a great time with him. He sounds fab!
I think you are right. I just get overly paranoid.
DeleteYou will be fine, getting nervous is half the fun- I used to LOVE getting nervous about first dates!
ReplyDeleteI am a freak, yes.
well it is exciting in some ways.
DeleteAw, sounds like you had a successful date. Of COURSE he would want another. Why wouldn't he?
ReplyDeleteI did, now I can not be so nervous.
DeleteI'm glad the date went well!
ReplyDeleteI think the only time I've really gotten nauseous nervous in a dating scenario was when it was someone I had been friends with for a long time and it was time to go on a walk and talk about feelings. I thought for sure I was going to puke. The date that followed that was equally nerve-wracking, probably because I really wanted it to work out. Haha.
Ok, that would make me really nervous.
DeleteI am not a normal person by any means, but that is about how I feel. Dating makes me nervous so, unless it's someone I know very well already, you can catch me breathing into a paper bag in an attempt to not pass out.
ReplyDeleteGlad it went well! :)
