Kick Monday right int he face. It's totally ok.

This bi-polar weather is really getting to me. My poor little soul can't take it. "It's 80 degrees and I'm so haaaaaaaaapppppppppppyyyyyyyyyy!" but then "It's cold and rainy and I want to cry and sleep and hold my kitties." The weather really effects my mood. I know this about myself. I get seriously down in the dumps in the winter sometimes. The solution my friends is to pretend that it's still spring outside and buy a dress at old navy on sale. This way you get in the spring mind set, get a shopping high and don't kill your bank account (hello $20.00 dress).

I'm just going to keep talking about good things.

My brother will be here Thursday with my nephew.

I saw my grandmother Sunday and she has improved a lot from just last week. She can laugh again and is getting better at talking and getting more movement back.

I'm still on a Hunger Games high. The more I think about it the more I feel that the movie could not have been made any better. I also had a dream where I was Katniss last night which was great when I got to snuggle up with Peeta but bad when I was trying to not get killed! Also, that probably makes me a creeper dreaming that considering I'm 28! I need to see it again. Melissa, I know you read this so let's go!

Ok I'm feeling much better now. I'm going to get ready for work and kick this day right in the face.

Like a hipster ghost

I never go this long with out blogging but work has kept me pretty busy this week and by the time I got home I was exhausted. I'm back though with a plethora of pictures.

Thursday night after a long day of trial prep a few of us went to Lolita for drinks. I love the bathrooms there so of course I had to take pictures.

Someone walked in while I was taking this. Don't mind me I'm just taking photos of myself for my blog, enjoy your pee time. I really need to do something with my hair. It's very blah right now.

Friday night was a last minute outing for some drinks with Melissa and Darryl. I had been out to dinner in Allston earlier so I was wearing my hipster attire.

I have no face. Just eyeballs and eyebrows.

Like a hipster ghost.

I saw the Hunger Games yesterday and I won't go into too much detail here because everyone is already blogging about it, but I will say that I thought it was well done. The movie followed the book pretty closely and I was very happy with the way they handled the deaths. I was worried that it would be like Twilight where you never see any blood but that was very much not the case.

I was up at 5:30 this morning which is dumb because I'm tired so I decided to blog until I got sleepy again. Back to bed!

23 days until the Hunger Games movie and thoughts on Mockingjay Katniss

 
The Hunger Games opens in theaters in 23 days! Not that I'm counting or anything....

I'd like to take a moment to talk about Katniss in Mockingjay. So if you haven't read book 3 yet you might want to skip this. Nothing super spoilerific but still, just a warning.

I am a Katniss fan. There are some people that are not. Some think she's cold and others like her character up until Mockingjay. They don't like weak Katniss that hides in the closet. But you know what? She's a teenager who's been through a lot of shit. She was in the Hunger Games not once but twice, her home was blown to pieces, the guy that she loves (but won't admit it yet) was kidnapped and is being tortured and the people that she thought she could trust were using her to further their own agenda and lied to her about it. Not to mention that she's now expected to be the face of a revolution. I think she has every right to have a little break down. Suzanne Collins knew what she was doing. Hard, cold, strong Katniss is still a teenager, she's still human, she is not perfect. In the end she does what she has to do to survive and that is the Katniss we know and love.

Thoughts on Breaking Dawn. Need more humans.

• Edward is still making ridiculous faces but what happened to Jasper's faces? He really stole the show with those faces in the first movie.
• Bella's wedding dress was nice in the back but I did not like the front. 
• Make out session at the alter is not necessary.
• I think the speeches at the wedding were the best part of the whole movie. Way better than the sex scene. #teamhumans #teamjessica #teamcharlie
• Poor Jacob I mean seriously. He can cry his wolfie tears in my arms any time.
• They did a good job making K. Stew look like crap. She was suppose to look like crap so yeah good job. 
• Vampire teeth c-section was kept in the movie which is kind of funny considering how little (as in no) blood they showed in the other movies.

I lost the excitement for these movies after the first one. I've moved on to Hunger Games which is a million times better anyways.

Hunger Games trailer. I'm going to pee my pants.

I can't even handle this trailer. I have watched it about 5 times already and I'm nowhere near sick of watching it. I love everything about it. The color contrast between District 12 and the capital is perfect.  District 12 is all washed out, dreary and gray while the Capital is bright, shiny and colorful. Really gives you the feeling of how bleak life in District 12 is. Effie looks spot on. Poor Peeta's face when Effie motions for him to come on stage after his name is called. Katniss looking frantic right before she goes up into the arena. And the last scene when the games officially start! I almost died. I can't remember the last time I was this excited over a trailer! Is it March yet for the love of God!

Hunger Games teaser

Sara texted me last night IN ALL CAPS to let me know there was a teaser trailer for the Hunger Games that played on the VMAs.  Since I don't have cable and I was in bed when she texted me I waited until this morning to see it.





Here are my thoughts.

1. Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss is going to be spot on.  She killed it in this clip
2. Gale's voice!  Hot, hot, HOT!
3. The music is amazing in this clip.  Danny Elfman is a genius.  I pretty much flipped out when I found out he was going to score the Hunger Games.
4. Rue's whistle at the end?!  Nice touch.

I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing me talk about the Hunger Games.  Cat posting to resume shortly.

And in case you're wondering, I survived the hurricane.  I didn't even lose power.  I did eat a ton of ice cream just in case I did.  I mean I can't let that go to waste.  The next street over from me had no power including street lights and traffic signals.  Melissa and I went on a hurricane mission to find coffee.  The 711 was still open using candles since the power was out.  That's dedication.

I would also like to point out that most Starbucks were closed while Dunkin Donuts was all "bitch please, this is New England.  We stay open no matter what!"

That would be what my doctor said to me when she walked in the room today.  Let me tell you work was fun today.  So is peeing.  TMI?  Welcome to my blog.  Now I'm going to say a little prayer that the antibiotic doesn't make me vomit.  There's about a fifty percent change it will.  Fingers crossed!

I got home from work to a nice little surprise in my mail box though.

HUNGER GAMES!!!!!!!!!  This almost made me forget that I'm peeing razor blades.  Nugs mailed this to me as a little surprise.  Thanks Nugs!  This made my day!  Is it March yet?  I'm ready for this movie NOW.

Someone take these Funyuns away

I am so gross this morning.  I ate Funyuns at 10 a.m.  They're not even real onions!  I'm starving today and I would probably eat anything you put in front of me right now.  As Lor pointed out.  I'm having a "Hollow Day".  I love me a good Hunger Game's reference and Peeta's strong baker's arms.

This week is making me way too tired.  I forgot that this picture was taken last night until I was looking through my iphone photos.

 To Catch a Predator Called.  They want their decoy back.

This is why I don't wear hats often.  They are usually too big for my head and I look like a 13 year old girl.  If I was asked to be a decoy on To Catch a Predator I would totally do it.  It would look awesome on my resume.  Legal Assistant and decoy on To Catch a Predator.

Hunger Games casting

More casting for Hunger Games has been revealed.  Here are my thoughts on some of the casting.

Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket.  I think she'll be a good Effie.

Thresh and Rue.  Little Rue!  I have no idea who this actress is but she is adorable.

Peeta and Gale.  I'm not sure how I feel about this.  You get this idea of a character in your head and it's hard to let go of that.  Maybe they'll both be great but when I look at Josh Hutcherson all I see is the kid from Bridge to Terabithia.  I was pulling for Hunter Parrish like most people.

I won't get into Jennifer Lawrence being cast as Katniss.  She seems like a good actress but I don't think she's right for the part.  She looks too old and not at all how Katniss is described.

I'm worried this movie is going to suck.  I love the books so much and I'll be so upset if the movie is horrible.
