Mail surprises and Marathon Monday excitement

It was absolutely beautiful here in Boston today. I needed a good dose of sun. Better yet, it's going to be in the high 80s Marathon Monday. Great for me, not so much for the runners. I can see that barricades going up around the city. Our office is closed Monday as are a lot of Boston businesses. I'll walk over to Beacon Street and hang out at Washington Square tavern all day. Marathon Monday is so much fun! I'm giddy like a kid on Christmas Eve.

I have to share with you what my favorite Irish blogger, Harley, sent to me in the mail. It was a complete surprise and really made my day. Actually it made my week.

First up is this really cute heart necklace. I love it and I've been wearing it all week!

Next up is a painting of Me as Snow White. This girl has more talent in her pinky than I have in my whole body. I want to frame it and hang it up.
Now it's time for me to stuff my face with Chinese food. Long live Saturday Night!

  1. I absolutely love the necklace. I could do without the warm weather though.

  2. :) I'm so glad you got it and I'm SO glad you like it! Was envisioning some mean mailman crumpling it up and I didn't know if my superior cereal box sheet of cardboard was going to hold up! Also I know both your kitties are super dark but I wanted to differentiate between them which is why I didn't use black for both of them!

And I wish some of that warm weather would wander over here - it's so gloomy we're all in the doldrums!

  3. Marathon Monday sounds awesome! Perhaps I should have come to Boston to observe the marathon (aka drink lots) as part of my training for the Fargo half. And that is a great picture of you as Snow White! :)

  4. You make Marathon Monday sound so awesome. I had to go school, and it was chaos trying to get to class. Also it was so hot in our classroom that everyone, including our professor, was pretty much sprawled out across our desks, dozing and drooling.
