You really had no idea puppies were a lot of work? A Friday rant.

Happy Friday! Ginny has got some ranting to do. Once again this stems from facebook and once again I'm going to rant about people not taking care of their pets.

A girl I know on facebook has posted that she is selling her Husky puppy at a reduced price of $800.00. Now the reason she is selling her puppy is that she can't give it the time and attention that the puppy needs. Ok, at least you're being honest BUT. BUUUUUUTTTTTTT. How do you not know that a puppy is going to be a lot of work! I have never had a puppy or a dog and I know this. It's common knowledge. If you don't know this I'm telling you now. Puppies need training, attention and care. Shocking! I know. I'm sorry if I blew you're freaking mind here.

And here's the thing. To me, pets are family. When you decide to bring a pet into your home, that's it. You don't give it away or sell it because it's hard. I understand that sometimes there are circumstances where you can't keep the pet. But to get rid of a pet because it's hard word? Give me a break. Kids are hard work. Do you give them back to the breeder? Oh wait....you are the breeder. It's called responsibility folks. Suck it up and be an adult.

P.S. you're really going to sell the dog for $800? And this is the "reduced" price according the update.

Wow this Wal-Dryl is really making me feisty.

  2. oh COME ON, people. how ridiculous. puppies are a pain in the ass, but they make up for it by being adorable and loving you all the time. and you know she probably got it from a pet store because i highly doubt there are breeders or rescues selling puppies for $800 a pop, unless it's half unicorn.

    1. I know! They will love you if you take care of them and train them right. She paid $1,500.00 for the puppy. I guess $800.00 is her "discount" price.

  3. Couldn't agree more!

We have two cats and I can't think of a situation where we'd look to rehome them. We LOVE our pets, they are family!

  6. People like this make me sick. I love my dogs. Yes, they are a pain in the ass sometimes, destroy things and general make me a crazy person, but I don't give up on them. They take time and understand and I nearly had to give one of them away once and I broke into tears over it for like 3 hours.

Want a pet that doesn't take much work? Get a goldfish or a rock.

  8. oh man that is infuriating. I am hoping a back lash of comments have came her way. I assume she bought the dog off a breeder? That is not ok to begin with and now to shirk her responsibilities! ARGH! Maddened. 800 bones? Jeez... someone needs to sit her down (with the end of a fist)

    Happy smiley Elle xo :)

    1. She did so I'm wondering if she had to sign a contract. A lot of breeders do that.

  9. :(

Poor doggy. That girl should know that all the time and love and effort you give to them when they're puppies... you get it back a hundredfold. Dogs are the most loyal family members and it breaks my heart when I hear stuff like that.

  10. Maybe she should get a little naked rat dog to carry around in her purse at all times. Those seem to work for chicks with no time.

  11. Grrrrr......this makes me angry, too. A grad student here got a dog shortly after I got Ruby and only four days later she was returning him. Thankfully, the breeder took the pup back and found it a better home, but still. I don't get why people are so surprised that puppies take work!
